Corrupt Cong always insulted Sanatana Dharma: Shah

Khajuraho (MP), Feb 25 (UNI) Firing a broadside at the Congress, Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday alleged that the party is synonymous with corruption in national politics, always insulted Sanatana Dharma and remained apathetic towards the scourge of terrorism.

Addressing a Booth Samiti Sammelan here, the visiting dignitary averred, “Rahul baba used to mock me in 2019 – when I was BJP President – about my not announcing the date vis-à-vis Ayodhya’s Ram temple. For years, the Congress put the temple issue on the backburner. During the decadal Sonia-Manmohan regime, terrorists would infiltrate; stage attacks and flee. Pakistan did so even after Narendra Modi assumed the reins but the former did not remember that the Congress was no longer in power. Within ten days, surgical strikes were launched.”

The Congress’ friends do not tire of abusing Sanatana Dharma, the Congress tried the label “saffron terrorism” and opposed construction of the Ravidas temple but Modi has fulfilled consecration of a temple even in the UAE, Shah said, adding that scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore were perpetrated during ten years of Congress rule and they included coal block, Commonwealth, 2G, Adarsh Housing and AgustaWestland.

“Modi has provided a transparent dispensation and the Congress is fading from the country’s political perspective. This convention is for taking a resolve for victory vis-à-vis government formation with more than 400 seats under Modi’s leadership in the 18th Lok Sabha,” he underlined.

During the past decade, Modi transformed Bharat by undertaking a journey of development that benefited 60 crore indigent individuals, liberated the nation from insurgency, honoured women through 33 per cent reservation in legislatures and succeeded in the Chandrayaan Mission, Shah emphasised.

“We fulfilled every promise – the Ram temple, abrogation of Article 370, ensuring One Rank One Pension and abolition of triple talaq. A new Parliament was constructed, the Mahakal Lok and the Kashi-Vishwanath Corridor created. More than 80 cr indigent people are each receiving 5 kg of grain per month. Toilets were built; abodes constructed for crores of citizens, gas cylinders and water supplied and 11 cr peasants are each receiving Rs 6,000 per annum. The next half a decade is the time for laying the foundation of a great Bharat,” he said.

“On behalf of the BJP, I wish to express my gratitude from the heart towards Madhya Pradesh’s populace. In 2014, victory was witnessed in 27 of 29 parliamentary constituencies of this state, 28 in 2019 and let it be all 29 in 2024. Any other party may win an election due to various reasons but the BJP emerges victorious due to booth workers’ sweat and toil alone,” Shah added.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was among the leaders who graced the occasion.
