Bhopal: Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who visited Madhya Pradesh to campaign in support of BJP candidates, accused the Congress party of dishonesty, labeling their claims and guarantees as fabrications. Thakur highlighted that Congress has not only failed as a party but also failed to deliver on any of the seven promises they made in Himachal Pradesh. None of the pledges, such as crediting Rs 1500 to sisters’ accounts or increasing milk prices to Rs 100 per liter, have been fulfilled. As the elections approach in Madhya Pradesh, Congress has donned a new facade and is making fresh assurances. Thakur pointed out that their promise to waive farmers’ loans remained unfulfilled, and the youth were left without job opportunities. The public is discerning and will not be deceived by Congress, he asserted. Anurag Thakur expressed these views during a press conference held at the State Media Centre on Sunday.
Thakur further noted that the Kamal Nath Government failed to fulfill any of its guarantees during its 15-month tenure. Rahul Gandhi had visited Madhya Pradesh and promised to waive loans for all farmers, but this pledge of a Rs 2 lakh loan waiver was left unmet. Even the assurance of providing unemployment allowances was not realized, and the promise of granting Rs 51,000 under the Kanyadaan Scheme in the State was also unfulfilled.
He praised the BJP’s policies, highlighting that the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh has taken meaningful steps to generate employment opportunities for the youth. The Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana has enabled young individuals to earn while learning. Thakur also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dedication to ensuring that no poor person goes to bed hungry during the pandemic..
Additionally, Thakur mentioned a recent announcement in Chhattisgarh to provide free ration to over 80 crore people for the next five years and emphasized that the people of Madhya Pradesh are benefiting from schemes like the Ujjwala Scheme and direct money transfers to farmers’ bank accounts.
Thakur pointed out that the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh is empowering women through schemes like Ladli Bahna Yojana, making them financially stronger. In contrast, he criticized the Congress Government in Rajasthan for allowing atrocities against women to surge, with over two lakh cases of women harassment registered during their rule. While women in Rajasthan are facing disrespect, Madhya Pradesh is implementing schemes like Ladli Bahna Yojana and Ladli Laxmi Yojana to uplift and strengthen women.
Finally, Thakur criticized the Chhattisgarh Congress Government for alleged corruption, particularly the Mahadev App betting scam amounting to Rs 508 crore, which he claims has exposed the dark secrets of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s administration.
