Cong in-charge Jitendra Singh in Bhopal

  • Kamal Nath to attend meeting virtually

Bhopal: Jitendra Singh, AICC general secretary and Congress’ in-charge for Madhya Pradesh, arrived in Bhopal on Tuesday to maintain the party’s momentum amidst speculations about Kamal Nath’s potential exit.

Addressing the media at the PCC office, Singh asserted, “Those who do not adhere to the Congress ideology are free to leave the party. We have no room for such individuals within our ranks.”

Singh verified that Kamal Nath’s son, MP Nakul Nath, will be contesting the election from Chhindwara. Additionally, he mentioned that Kamal Nath will be participating in the meeting through a Zoom call.

This confirmation follows Kamal Nath’s visit to Delhi on Saturday, sparking rumors of a possible shift to the BJP. However, these speculations were put to rest on Sunday evening when Nath’s close aide, MLA Sajjan Singh Verma, affirmed that Nath remains committed to the Congress.

The agenda for the meeting includes discussions on preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra scheduled for March 2.
