Chances of hailstorm and isolated rain in state

Bhopal: Amidst the cold in Madhya Pradesh due to the effect of cold winds, there is a possibility of hailstorm and rain at some places in the districts falling in Chambal division during the next 24 hours.

Due to cold winds, the effect of fog along with cold has been continuing for several days in other places of the state including the capital Bhopal. This has had an adverse impact on public life. According to meteorologists, the effect of cold and fog in the state is expected to last for one or two more days. Clouds are formed due to continuous moisture coming from the Arabian Sea. This is causing fog in many cities. At the same time, there is a cold effect due to the cold winds coming from the north.

According to the scientists of Bhopal Meteorological Center, apart from the districts falling in Chambal division of the state, there are also places in Niwari, Betul, Khargone, Khandwa, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neecham, Shivpuri, Gwalior and Datia districts. There is a possibility of light rain with thundery conditions at some places. Scientists have warned that chances of rain are highest in Mandsaur and Neemuch. Apart from the districts falling in Chambal division of the state, hailstorm may fall in Shivpuri, Gwalior and Datia districts.

Moderate to dense fog

Along with the districts falling in Rewa, Sagar and Gwalior divisions of the state, moderate to dense fog was seen at some places in Mandla, Ratlam, Ujjain and Bhind districts and light to moderate fog was seen at some places in Umaria, Jabalpur, Sehore, Bhopal, Rajgarh and Narmadapuram districts. Scientists have said that at present a cyclone is forming in the upper part of the air over south-western Uttar Pradesh. Another trough has formed from this cyclone to North Gujarat. Along with this, a western disturbance remains between Iran and Afghanistan. A trough has formed from the south-eastern Arabian Sea to Gujarat. Clouds have formed due to the continuous moisture coming from the Arabian Sea.

There is fog effect in the capital Bhopal this morning. The sky remained partly cloudy and after this there was relief from cold due to light sunshine. The weather in and around Bhopal is expected to remain dry for the next 24 hours.
