Lucknow, Apr 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision to conduct caste census and said it is a decisive initiative in the direction of ensuring proper identification and appropriate participation of deprived, backward and neglected sections in government schemes.
Taking to X, the CM wrote, “The decision by the CCPA (Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, under the leadership of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to include a caste census in the upcoming census is unprecedented and commendable, in the collective interest of 140 crore citizens.”
He said, “This is a decisive initiative in the direction of ensuring proper identification and appropriate participation of deprived, backward and neglected sections in government schemes. Heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister, under whose leadership the BJP government has taken this historic decision to transform social justice and data-driven good governance into reality.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet on the announcement of conducting a caste census. Welcoming this decision, he congratulated the entire cabinet including the PM and said that this is a historic decision.
He said, “Due to this, there is a different kind of happiness among all the sections like Dalit, tribal, backward, poor and deprived. Today is truly a Diwali day. That is why this slogan always sounds in the country that if Modi is there, then it is possible. The decision of the caste census is a historic step towards equality and justice with 140 crore countrymen.”
Maurya said that caste census will make the society more strong economically and socially. “This will give new wings to the progress of the country. A new energy will be infused in the country which will help in making a developed India,’ he said.
