Campaign for second phase of voting to end today

Bhopal: Election campaign will end at 6 pm on April 24 in the 6 Lok Sabha Parliamentary constituencies of Madhya Pradesh where voting is to be held from 7 am to 6 pm on Friday, April 26 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan has said that there is a provision to stop the election campaign in the parliamentary constituency 48 hours before the scheduled end of voting. After the deadline for campaigning ends, persons from outside the area, who are not voters in that Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency, have to leave that constituency. For this, an intensive monitoring campaign is conducted.

In the second phase, voting is to be held on April 26 in Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies of Madhya Pradesh number-6 Tikamgarh (SC), number-7 Damoh, number-8 Khajuraho, number-9 Satna, number-10 Rewa and number-17 Hoshangabad.

11 candidates file papers

CEO Rajan has said that as per the election programme of Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the process of filing nomination papers for the fourth phase is going on. For the fourth phase, on Tuesday, the 5th day, 11 candidates submitted 15 nomination papers. So far, 62 nomination papers have been filed by 39 candidates.

3757 complaints of violations

Rajan has said that the Model Code of Conduct is effective from March 16 for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the state. Complaints of violation of Model Code of Conduct are being received from citizens on “C-Vigil App”. 3 thousand 757 complaints of code of conduct violation have been received on “C-Vigil App” from March 16 to April 23. All these complaints have been resolved promptly.
