- Police conduct search at Nath’s bungalow
Bhopal : The political temperature is increasing day by day in Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh. Now BJP candidate Vivek Bunty Sahu has filed a police complaint against Kamal Nath’s PA RK Miglani. After the complaint, CSP Ajay Rana along with the entire police force reached Kamal Nath’s bungalow in Shikarpur regarding the entire matter. As soon as information about the matter came to light, Kamal Nath supporters also gathered at the bungalow. In view of the matter, heavy police force was deployed.
Police conducted a search at the residence of former Chief Minister and Congress MLA Kamal Nath in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, three days prior to the voting. Piyush Babele, media adviser to Kamal Nath, confirmed the arrival of the police team. Visuals shared on Twitter by KK Mishra, media adviser to PCC Chief Madhya Pradesh, depicted a large police contingent entering Kamal Nath’s residence premises.
What is BJP afraid of, asks Uikey
Mishra’s tweet alongside the video questioned the motive behind the search, referencing previous raids on Congress MLA Nilesh Uikey’s house without a search warrant. He rhetorically asked, “What is the BJP afraid of?” and asserted the Congress’s resilience against such actions, even suggesting that they wouldn’t be deterred by the involvement of the police or even the army.
These actions have sparked concerns about the timing of raids and searches targeting opposition leaders just before the Lok Sabha elections. The previous day, police and excise teams had raided the residence and other properties of Congress MLA Nilesh Uikey, following allegations of hoarding illicit liquor and cash to influence voters.
Chhindwara, considered Nath’s stronghold, is scheduled for polling on April 19. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 28 out of 29 seats, with Chhindwara being the sole exception.
