New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Accusing the BJP of making efforts to break the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leaders, the party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday praised all party MLAs for their unity and work when he was in jail.
Addressing the all-party MLAs meeting at his residence, Kejriwal alleged, “BJP people contacted many MLAs to break AAP so that government falls, but their plan failed.”
“After my arrest, our party became more united; instead of breaking apart, neither could they (the BJP) topple our government, nor could they poach our MLAs, nor could they dent our Punjab government. Their entire plan failed,” Kejriwal claimed.
“I came to know that these people (BJP) tried to contact many of you, these people tried to break you, by luring and threatening you in various ways. but no one broke away, you all remained strong. For this, both the party and the country feel proud of you people,” he asserted.
“All the MLAs did excellent work to ensure that the people of Delhi did not face any problems in getting electricity, water, or medicines,” Kejriwal said.
At the meeting, the MLAs informed Arvind Kejriwal about the incidents that happened during the last one-and-a-half months.
“I have come out for 21 days and have to go back again on June 2, so after that, you people have to keep the party safe because I think only the Aam Aadmi Party can give the future to this country,” Kejriwal said.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “After Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, the AAP family moved forward strongly, and the narrative of elections changed in the entire country.”
“AAP has fought this dictatorship like a family, and now, after the arrival of Kejriwal, we will defeat this dictatorship,” AAP leader Atishi said.
CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, AAP’s National General Secretary Organisation Dr Sandeep Pathak, MP Sanjay Singh, ministers Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, Lok Sabha candidates of the party, and all the MLAs were present in the meeting.
