Bhopal: During an electoral rally in Morena, BSP leader Mayawati accused the BJP and Congress of orchestrating a campaign to undermine her party’s prospects in the upcoming Gwalior-Chambal polls.
Highlighting the history of BSP-led governments in Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati recalled the persistent challenges posed by Congress, BJP, and other caste-based parties aiming to weaken her party’s influence. She cautioned against similar opportunistic elements in Gwalior, alleging their alignment with Congress and BJP interests and urged vigilance among the electorate.
Mayawati also drew attention to similar threats in Uttar Pradesh, where opposition parties are allegedly conspiring against the BSP, particularly in areas where the party holds sway.
In the Gwalior-Chambal region, where the Bhind Lok Sabha seat is hotly contested among BJP, Congress, and BSP, Mayawati’s party is emerging as a significant contender. While victory in Chambal might be uncertain, BSP’s presence could disrupt the electoral calculus of BJP and Congress, prompting both parties to be on guard.
With elections slated for May 7th in the Gwalior-Chambal region, political parties are intensifying their campaign efforts in anticipation of a closely contested race.
