Bhopal gears up for Republic Day celebrations today

Bhopal is all set to usher in the spirit of patriotism as it prepares to celebrate Republic Day on Friday, with the main event scheduled at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. The city is abuzz with excitement as schools, colleges, and various institutions gear up to organize a multitude of programs to commemorate this significant day in the nation’s history. Additionally, spirited rallies will be taken out across the city, adding to the fervor of the Republic Day celebrations.

The main function will be held at 9 am at Lal Parade Ground in which the Governor Mangubhai Patel will be the chief guest.

Colourful cultural programmes will be presented by the students of various schools at Lal Parade. In the cultural programme, 60 girl students of Navnidh Hasomal Lakhani Public School of Sant Hirdaram Nagar will present patriotic dances. The students of other schools and colleges and artists will give melodious presentations of folk dances and folk songs. During the Republic Day Parade, tableaux of various departments will roll out.

Buildings decked up, sale of tricolors in full swing

All government and many private buildings have been beautifully decorted with attractive lighting on the eve of Republic Day. The vendors and hawkers selling tricolour have sprouted at traffic junctions, chowks and roadsides. Educational institutions, private and government offices, housing societies, corporates, individuals are all set to celebrate the day in a big way by hoisting the flag.

The markets are flooded with wide range of tricolour t-shirts, scarves, stickers, caps, wrist bands, badges, sashes, ribbons, balloons, diaries, pens and bangles among other items.

The shopkeepers are making brisk business by selling tricolours along with headbands, accessories and bracelets, as many kids are participating in cultural events and perform on R-Day celebration at schools.
