Bhopal: “As a result of the current rapid economic growth in the country and the priority given by the Government to the development of infrastructure, the power requirement in the country is increasing rapidly and this is a very good news for BHEL”, said Shri S.M. Ramanathan, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal while addressing the employees in the Management Employee Communication meeting held today at Cultural Hall. Shri B K Singh, General Manager (HR) was present with him on the stage.
In his maiden interaction with all the employees after joining Bhopal Unit, Shri Ramanathan discussed with the employees on various suggestion put forward by the employees, assuring to quickly implement the new positive measures suggested by them. He said that this factory is the culmination of the hard work of all the employees working in BHEL and all the people associated with this factory and our future depends on its progress. He said that as a result of the new Energy policy of the Government of India, there is a possibility of new orders coming into the thermal sector and this is definitely a good news for BHEL. BHEL has not only entered the traditional power equipment as well as various other sectors like transportation, industry, non-conventional energy, defence, but has also established its identity as a result of its efficiency and quality products. The potential orders in thermal will help the company to once again achieve the record set earlier. He said that we have a very good order book and the need is to fulfill these orders on time and fully live up to the trust and expectations of the customers. On this occasion, he said that a person’s life is precious and while doing our work, we also have to strictly follow the safety standards. He requested all the employees to follow the prescribed speed limit and other safety standards while driving to the workplace inside the factory.
In this meeting, the employees gave important suggestions to make the work more dynamic in various blocks of BHEL, Bhopal and said that partial repair and maintenance of some machines will significantly increase the speed of production. They also gave suggestions for improvements in industrial township and structural reforms. All the concerned General Managers discussed the suggestions related to their area and agreed for their immediate implementation.
In his address, Shri Singh welcomed all the participants, highlighting the importance of the MECOM event. He said that this forum has been an important platform for dialogue for the last four decades. All the General Managers, DROs and a large number of employees were present in this meeting.
Smt. Swagata Saxena, Additional General Manager (HRD) welcomed the Executive Director at the beginning of the program.
