Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
Samandar Patel, who left the Congress and joined the BJP three years ago, returned to the Congress again on Friday. In the PCC office, former Chief Minister and Congress State President Kamal Nath gave him the membership of the party.
On this occasion, many leaders and workers including Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh and MLA Jeetu Patwari were present in the Assembly. Along with Samandar, his supporters will also join the Congress again. Samandar Patel had reached Bhopal with a convoy of hundreds of vehicles to take membership of the Congress.
Did not get respect in BJP – It is worth mentioning that in the year 2020, when Jyotiraditya Scindia left Congress and joined BJP, Patel also joined BJP. Patel said that he neither got respect nor any platform in BJP. Apart from this, there is huge corruption in BJP. The latest example of this is the District President Gopal Charan being caught red-handed by the Lokayukta taking a bribe of Rs.50,000. Even after this, Minister Omprakash Saklecha has been sharing the stage with Charan.
Wants to contest elections with Javad – Samandar Patel is basically Indore resident and businessman, but he is camping in Javad area in the hope of getting an assembly ticket. Javad assembly is a Dhakad community dominated area. Due to this Patel is finding the way easy from here.
Contested election as Independent
Patel was in the Congress in the past as well, but the Congress did not give him a ticket in the last MP assembly elections. Angered by this, Patel entered the independent field. However, both Patel and Congress candidate Rajkumar Ahir lost. Omprakash Saklecha was victorious from here. After this, Patel left the Congress and joined the BJP with Scindia in the hope of a ticket, but seeing that he did not get a ticket from the BJP, he again reached Bhopal to join the Congress. Earlier, some other pro-Scindia leaders have returned to Congress in this election season.
