Ace shooter Shreyasi Singh selected for Paris Olympics

Patna, (UNI) Ace shooter, and BJP MLA Shreyasi Singh has been selected to participate in the Paris Olympics 2024 beginning on July 26.

Singh, a rifle shooter who had won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games, got a spot in the 21-member shooting team for the Paris Olympics. She is the daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh and, at present, a BJP MLA from Jamui constituency.

On her selection in the Olympics squad, Singh said it was the dream of her father to play in the Olympics and bring a gold medal for the country. Now her father was no more, but she would try her best to win a gold medal at the Olympics and fulfill his dream.

“I am the first ever player, both in the women’s and men’s groups, to get selected from Bihar for the shooting team to participate in the Olympics games,” Singh said. It was a great honor for her to represent the country in the Olympics. She requested the people of Bihar and the country to pray for her excellent and gold medal winning performance in the Olympics.

“I have received information from the National Rifle Association of India. (NRAI) in this connection at 11 AM today”, Singh said, adding it was a very emotional moment for her when she learned about getting selected in the Olympic squad. She would participate in the training camp being organised for the great event, she informed.
