AAP observes Ambedkar Jayanti as protest against BJP

New Delhi, (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday observed the 134th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar as ‘Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao Divas’ (Save Constitution, Remove Dictatorship) in a protest against the BJP-led central government.

During the event at the party headquarters, AAP leaders and supporters took an oath to fight to save the Constitution at the national level as well as in the capital.

Addressing the gathering at event, Senior party leader Sanjay Singh accused the BJP stating that its MPs are openly talking about changing the constitution, which is why the BJP is demanding over 400 seats. If the BJP comes to power, it will change the Constitution and abolish reservations for Dalits, tribals, and backward classes.

“Kejriwal government is the only one in the entire country that has fulfilled Baba Saheb’s vision by providing free education, healthcare, electricity, and water to the poor,” Singh said alleging that this is why Modi has put Kejriwal in jail.

The people of Delhi must ensure that the BJP loses on all seven seats during this election, Singh said.

“Today we have taken an oath to protect the Constitution written by Baba Saheb. This oath should not be just a sentence for the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, it should be a resolve for the ‘AAP’ workers to fight till their last breath to save the Constitution made by Baba Saheb,” Singh said.

Delhi Pradesh Coordinator and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai, Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Rakhi Birla, Mayor Dr. Shaili Oberoi, Jasmine Shah and other senior party leaders, legislators, councillors, and workers were also present on the occasion.

The event was organised across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and other states.
