40 injured in gas cylinder explosion in Pak

Islamabad, May 30 (UNI) A gas cylinder explosion injured at least 40 people, mostly women and children, in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province on Thursday, police said.

The incident happened in Hyderabad district of the province where the explosion happened in a shop selling gas cylinders, the district’s police told local media.

The explosion sparked a massive fire that quickly spread to several nearby houses, giving residents little time to escape, the police added.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital where 10 individuals were reportedly in critical condition.

An investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
