4 dead in building collapse on Spain’s Mallorca island

Madrid, May 24 (UNI) At least four people have been killed and 21 have been injured as a result of a building collapse on the Spanish island of Mallorca in the city of Palma, a local rescue service has said.

“Latest information on building collapse on Cartago Street at Playa de Palma: 4 people dead, 21 injured,” the rescue service of the Balearic Islands said on X on Thursday.

The incident occurred as a result of the collapse of the terrace of a bar located on the roof of the two-story building, which houses the Medusa Beach Club, the report said. Some people are still reportedly trapped under the rubble, and the number of victims may increase.
