3 dead, 6 injured in fire at factory in Delhi’s Narela

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Three people have died, and six others were injured after a massive fire broke out in a food processing unit in Delhi’s Narela on Saturday morning.

According to Delhi Police, a gas leak in one of the pipelines caused the fire, which led to the overheating of the compressor and a subsequent blast.

The police and fire departments received information about the fire at around 3:38 a.m. today. Sixteen fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the blaze.

“The fire department received a call from the Narela area about the fire at around 3:38 a.m. A total of 16 fire tenders were rushed to the site. Four people were taken to the hospital by DFS,” DFS Director Atul Garg told UNI.

“Police rescued a total of nine victims and shifted them to SHRC Hospital in Narela, but three of them were declared dead, “he said.
