In a momentous event at Kuno National Park in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, the only cheetah safari in the country, female cheetah Jwala has given birth to three adorable cubs. The announcement was made by Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav, who shared the exciting news on social media platform X. The remarkable development is part of Project Cheetah, where a total of 8 cheetahs, including Jwala, were brought from Namibia on September 17, 2022.
Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav expressed his delight by posting a video on Instagram, captioned, “Kuno’s new cubs!
A Namibian cheetah named Jwala has given birth to three cubs. Congratulations to all the wildlife frontline warriors and wildlife lovers across the country.” The birth of these cubs follows closely after Namibian cheetah Asha gave birth to her own litter just weeks ago, marking a significant milestone in the conservation efforts at Kuno National Park.
Jwala had previously become a mother on March 24 Under Project Cheetah, the 8 cheetahs, including Jwala, were brought to Kuno National Park with the aim of reintroducing and establishing a cheetah population.
Jwala, currently housed in a spacious enclosure, gave birth to three cubs on January 20.
