3 AAP candidates from Delhi file nominations, allege BJP of weakening country

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) Alleging Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) of weakening the country at every level, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Somnath Bharti from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat on Saturday said that this election is about saving democracy.

Bharti submitted his nomination today from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

“This election is different as it’s about directly saving democracy and the constitution. The 10-year BJP government has weakened the country at every level, whether it’s democracy or the constitution, they have undermined democracy,” he said.

“They arbitrarily arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal three times without evidence, showing the peak of authoritarianism in the country. People are witnessing the dictatorship in the country. Today, everyone is talking about answering the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal with their votes,” Bharti said.

Gopal Rai, the Delhi Pradesh Coordinator and Cabinet Minister said, “There is a rising voice against the BJP’s dictatorship across the country. People are discussing two main issues in Delhi. Firstly, despite electing the BJP for 10 years, they did nothing for the people of New Delhi. There is widespread dissatisfaction among the people. Secondly, Arvind Kejriwal was working for the people in Delhi, but he was also arrested and put in jail.

The people’s slogan is “Remove dictatorship – elect a working MP,” he said.

“Somnath Bharti has been elected as MLA from Malviya Nagar three times and has worked for the people. Today, the entire population of New Delhi prefers such representatives. The people of Delhi are eagerly waiting to respond to BJP’s dictatorship with their votes,” Rai said.

Another AAP candidates Kuldeep Kumar from East Delhi and Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi took out roadshows along with senior leaders and volunteers of the party before filing nominations.

BJP has fielded Kamaljeet Sehrawat against Mishra while Kumar will face BJP’s Harsh Malhotra.

All seven seats of Delhi will go to polls in the 6th phase on May 25.
