1000 cr will be spent in Omkareshwar before PM’s arrival

  • Budget has to be released before code of conduct

Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Omkareshwar, plans have been made to improve the condition of the dilapidated pilgrimage city. Dozens of departments, including PWD and Forest Development Corporation, will be engaged in road plantations in the area of Shankaracharya statue and city council in repair and painting of broken places.

Now, big planners are coming and giving instructions to make plans. The visits of officers including DGP and Chief Secretary will be frequent. It is said that 1000 crores will be spent to improve the dilapidated condition of Omkareshwar till the PM unveils the statue of Adi Shankaracharya.

There are assembly elections here after three months. The budget has to be released before the code of conduct. The great thing is that a few years ago, the Forest Development Corporation did a plantation on Omkar Parvat. By giving guards and water, the plants became trees. They were also cut by some people to make raw liquor. On Sunday again the team of officers of the corporation visited the statue of Shankaracharya. A big plantation will be done here before the arrival of the PM. The Public Works Department will soon start the work of a four lane road from Omkareshwar to Mortakka. No one is keeping an eye on the road from Sanawad to Kothi. There are pits as the moon has. The department is also preparing to mark the routes for the four-lane. The Bridge Corporation is spending high in the name of expenditure here. Chief Engineer of Setu Nigam Sanjay Khande told that works worth 250 crores are being done by the Public Works Department for the development of Omkareshwar. In which there is a four lane road from Mortakka to Omkareshwar worth Rs 123 crore and a bridge worth Rs 44 lakh.

Complete the work within the time limit

The counseling route connecting the new bus stand to the bridge is being made. The bridge connecting Mandhata mountain which has been under construction for the last 6 years. After terminating the work from former contractor Rajesh Sharma, it has been allotted to Vidya Project Private Limited. Chief Engineer Sanjay Khande has again given the date for the construction of the bridge which has been stuck for a long time till June 30, 2024 to complete the said work within the time limit.
