Bhopal, Sant Hirdaram Girls is well known for its commitment to holistic education, hosted a Yogathon event on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Under the joint supervision of the NSS unit, NCC and the Sports Committee, this event was a testament to the college’s dedication to fostering physical and mental well-being among its students.
Dr. Dalima Parwani, Principal, delivered an inspiring message about the manifold benefits of yoga practice. She highlighted yoga’s transformative power in leading a stress-free life, achieving mental peace, enhancing concentration, combating body fatigue, maintaining a disease-free body, and managing body weight effectively. In her address, she emphasized the rejuvenating effects of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), which invigorates the body and mind, infusing participants’ lives with renewed energy.
The Yogathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, students, teachers, and members of the Sports Committee. The event featured a diverse array of yoga postures, showcasing the versatility and inclusivity of this ancient practice. Participants engaged in 25 sets of Surya Namaskar, symbolizing their commitment to physical fitness and mental well-being.
This event was not merely a celebration of yoga but also a testament to the institution’s dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Aligned with the District Eco-SDG Challenge 2023 and the Apex SDG initiative, the college demonstrated its commitment to creating a sustainable future by encouraging the active participation.
