UP : Demonetisation the biggest corruption in the world: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Nov 11 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday termed the demonetisation as the world’s biggest corruption and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government decided to implement it as a well-thought-out strategy to compensate for the fraud and loss of Rs 15 lakh crore in the country.

Addressing a press conference at the party office, Akhilesh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that corruption and terrorism would end with demonetisation and inflation will reduce. “But his claim proved false.

Even after demonetisation, corruption did not reduce, inflation did not stop and terrorism did not end. Today, inflation, unemployment and corruption are at their peak in the country,” he alleged.

He said that according to statistics, even today Rs 33 lakh crore was still in the cash market in the country. “Even today, majority of the people are transacting in cash instead of digital. Purchase of land and important things is being done in cash. Everyone saw that large scale cash transactions and corruption took place in the registration and purchase of lands.

People from BJP were involved in the registration of lands in Ayodhya,” he said.

Supporting the demands of the women employees working in Dial 112 Response System, the SP Chief said that we will raise this demand on the very first day of the assembly winter session.

“The BJP government is insensitive and is taking advantage of poverty. The women working in Dial 112 are threatening to be fired from their jobs,” he said.

Akhilesh said, “We assure the women employees working in Dial 112 that if the SP government is formed, we will increase their salaries twice as much as they are demanding. If their demand is Rs 3,000, we will double it to Rs 6,000,” he added.
