Two girls drown in Datia during Kartik Snan

Bhopal: A 13-year-old girl and a 21-year-old girl died during the ‘Kartik Snan’ in Anguri Nadi in Datia on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred when about 200 women from Bhagor village gathered for a ritualistic bath in the river.

The deceased identified as Sakshi (13) was lost in worshiping a statue of Lord Krishna when the tragedy struck, and then the other named Komesh Yadav (21) rushed to save Sakshi, but unfortunately both of them were taken away with a powerful current in the river.

Muskan Yadav, Komesh’s sister-in-law, recounted that after performing the rituals, was near the riverbank when they noticed Sakshi struggling in the water. She rushed to save the girl but unfortunately they were carried away by the strong flow of water.

A local resident Gautam Yadav, who was working in a nearby field, ran towards the scene as soon as he heard cries for help. He described the exact sight of two females, who could not be saved despite all the efforts.

One-sided love led to abduction of college girl

One-sided love led to the kidnapping of the college girl in Gwalior on Monday morning. Later in the night, the Gwalior police traced the girl to a hotel in Guna and reunited her with the family. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, said police. The jilted lover and the girl’s family were known to each other. Superintendent of Police of Gwalior Rajesh Singh Chandel said “The 19-year-old girl who was abducted near Naka Chandravadni petrol station in Gwalior yesterday (Monday) has been found at a lodge in Guna. She was abducted by two motorbike-borne men. Both of them have been nabbed one from Lahar and another with the girl,” the SSP said on Tuesday.
