Turkey launches probe rocket

Ankara, Aug 13 (UNI) Turkey has successfully launched a domestically-manufactured probe rocket into space, the Turkish Space Agency informs.

“As part of our country’s efforts to reach space, the probe rocket developed with domestic and national technologies was successfully launched from Igneada,” the space agency said on Twitter on Saturday.

The rocket was developed by Roketsan, a leading Turkish weapons and missile manufacturer.

The Turkish Space Agency specified that the rocket’s intended target is reaching an altitude of 550 kilometers (341 miles).
