Hyderabad, (UNI) Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, asserted that the people of Telangana are determined to usher in a ‘double engine’ government, with no room for either the BRS or Congress parties this time.
Speaking at a party workers’ meeting held at the Savera Function Hall in Yousufguda, Hyderabad on Tuesday, Piyush Goyal emphasized that a single family, that of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has been in power in the state, leading to rampant corruption over the past decade.
“Over the last ten years, we have witnessed Telangana’s regression due to the dominance of one family. Every party member should visit households and elucidate the corruption and misrule perpetuated by Chandrasekhar Rao, his son, Minister K.T. Rama Rao, and his daughter, MLC Kavitha.
Additionally, explain to the people how the BJP can offer a more efficient government. Highlight the advantages of a ‘double engine’ government, and inform them about India’s ascent to one of the world’s top five economies. Mention the measures taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards this goal to elevate it to the third-largest economy,” said Piyush Goyal, who also emphasized that the Prime Minister is putting in place steps to position the nation among the world’s top economies by 2047, which marks 100 years of independence.
Goyal also said that there was no discrimination against any state, but it was the Telangana Government that had delayed the allocation of land for the establishment of Sammakka-Sarakka Tribal University. He further accused the state of neglecting the implementation of the Fasal Beema Yojana, which would benefit farmers, questioning how a government carrying a debt of about Rs. 7.5 crore lakh could undertake development activities.
“Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao seems to prioritize his family, but for the BJP, the nation takes precedence, with everything else coming after. Our focus is to make our country great and developed; it should be a leader in the world. Telangana’s voice should resonate globally, given that its people are spread across different nations. This is the promise of Telangana,” emphasized the Union Minister.
Goyal informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been addressing numerous issues, including the construction of toilets in every household and providing water to every household in Telangana. He also highlighted the success of the Jan Dhan Yojana, which has facilitated direct money transfers to beneficiaries’ accounts, eliminating middlemen and benefitting millions.
He said “Investments in Telangana have surged 11-fold compared to previous administrations. A sum of Rs. 15,000 crore is being spent on expressways and highways. Farmers aspire to provide their children with better education, job opportunities, and increased income. Only Modi can make this a reality. This is an ineffectual government marred by corruption and family rule. The people have decided to replace this government. Congress was plagued by various forms of corruption. The people of Telangana yearn for a better government, with the hope that the BJP will come to power. They desire a ‘double engine’ government.”
Rajya Sabha member and OBC Morcha All India president, K. Laxman, added that the people are fed up with the KCR family rule, which is limited to just four family members. Accusing that the Jubilee Hills constituency is under the control of Majlis, the BJP leader claimed that both parties are colluding.
He also criticized the Chief Minister for failing to fulfill his promises while constantly making new ones. Laxman also highlighted the recent suicide of Pravallika, an unemployed individual from Warangal, as an issue that needs attention.
