State gears up for a week of intense heat

Bhopal, The state is preparing for a week of intense heat, with the Gwalior-Chambal region expected to be most affected by the heat wave. Other cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain are also experiencing high temperatures. Datia recorded a temperature of 47.5 degrees Celsius, with Bhind close behind at 46 degrees. The meteorological department has issued a heat alert for half of the state over the next four days. Thunderstorms and rain are possible in areas like Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, and Pandhurna.

On the other hand, due to the western disturbance, cyclonic circulation, and trough line, some parts of the state experienced thunderstorms and rain for a period of time. However, the weather pattern has shifted, leading to significant heat in around 30 districts, with temperatures ranging from 40 to 46.2 degrees Celsius.

Prediction

May 21: An orange alert for a heat wave is in place for Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Chhatarpur. Heatwave conditions are expected in several other districts.

May 22: An orange alert for strong hot winds is issued for specific regions, with conditions expected in various districts.

May 23: A severe heat wave alert is in effect for several districts in the state.
