SP MLA Sudhakar Singh takes oath of assembly’s membership

Lucknow, Sep 18 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Sudhakar Singh, who got elected in by-election for Ghosi seat in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday took the oath of the membership of Legislative Assembly.

Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana administered the oath of to the newly elected MLA Sudhakar Singh at the Vidhan Bhavan. SP state president Naresh Uttam Patel and party general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav and other leaders were present on the occasion.

The Speaker presented a copy of the Constitution and the Legislative Assembly Working Rules to the newly elected MLA. Congratulating Singh, he said that he should succeed as an aware and successful MLA in the Legislative Assembly and be successful in life and participate in the discussions in the House.

It may be noted that in the by-election held on Ghosi assembly seat on September 8, Sudhakar Singh of SP defeated Dara Singh Chauhan of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by 42,759 votes. Sudhakar Singh got 1,24,427 votes whereas BJP candidate got 81,668 votes.

By-election on this seat was necessitated due to the resignation of Dara Singh Chauhan who had left the membership of SP and joined BJP. Before the 2022 assembly elections, Chauhan left BJP and joined SP and was elected as SP MLA from Ghosi seat.
