Bhubaneswar, Jun 8 (UNI) Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some more parts of South Odisha on Friday,IMD sources here said.
The monsoon covered some parts of Malkangiri district on Friday and will further cover other parts of Odisha in a phased manner.
The IMD bulletin said the conditions are now favourable for further advancement of the monsoon into other parts of Odisha in the next few days.
The Southwest Monsoon will cover most parts of Odisha in the next four days,IMD said.
It said under its impact light to moderate rainfall has occurred at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur,Malkangiri and Nayagarh in Odisha.
The chief amount of 8 cm rainfall was recorded in Danagadi (Jajpur), Korukonda (Malkangiri), and Gania (Nayagarh).
Met sources further said light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, & at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha.
