Soon, reach Jabalpur from Bhopal via Bina-Katni in five hours

  • Bina-Katni third railway line is ready, all trains will run at 104 km speed

The West Central Railway has completed the work of the third railway line between Itarsi-Bhopal. Soon, trains will operate on it. With this, the time to reach Jabalpur from Bhopal will be reduced by about one and a quarter hours.

Permission for this is awaited from the Railway Safety Commissioner. At present, Railways has tested this third line by running a train at high speed. Due to increase in the speed of trains on this route, now trains from Bhopal to Bina, Sagar, passengers will benefit by saving time in traveling to Jabalpur via Katni. Railways has also completed the work of the third railway line between Kabina and Katni. Railways conducted a successful test by running the train at a speed of 104 km on the track. With this successful rail trial, passengers can reach Jabalpur from Bhopal via Bina-Katni in just 5 hours. At present it takes 6 to 7 hours via the said route.

According to railway officials, the speed of the train going from Bhopal via Bina to Jabalpur via Bina-Katni will be higher than before. The technical department has successfully tested the third railway line in the area under Bhopal Railway Division. Recently, officials of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited ran the electric engine on this section at a speed of 104 kilometers per hour and later inspected the railway track. Despite speed trials being conducted at high speed, there has been no damage of any kind on the railway track.

Journey will be completed within five hours

Railway officials said that with the opening of the third line, the passenger trains going from Bhopal to Katni via Jabalpur can be easily moved forward without stopping on the loop line. Apart from this, a separate route will be available for goods trains and long distance superfast express trains. In this way, the time of Vindhyachal Express train going to Itarsi via Bhopal, Bina-Katni, Jabalpur will also be reduced.

A proposal has been made to start operating normal passenger trains on the third railway line in the area. This proposal has been sent to the Railway Safety Commissioner’s office. Soon the Chief Railway Safety Commissioner will come to Bhopal with his team to inspect this area. The new track in Malikhedi section has been found safe in trials. Soon the final decision on this will be given by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
