Six-month wait for cardiac unit in JP

At present, patients in JP Hospital of the capital will have to wait for 6 months for a new cardiac unit, because its file has not been approved.

A new building is being completed in JP Hospital, due to this there is a delay in getting the new cardiac unit ready. Health department officials said that it will take six months for the setup of the unit to be completely established. In such a situation, it may take time till June to install this unit. In such a situation, patients will now be able to get modern facilities like angiography and angioplasty along with treatment of heart related diseases only after 6 months. It is to mention that currently only Hamidia and AIIMS hospitals have organized cardiac units in the capital. But these hospitals are crowded with patients, hence heart patients have to go to private hospitals. Departmental sources said that the work on this unit was to start in December, but now it will take additional time of three to four months.
