Secretary ER Dammu Ravi participates in SCO meeting with Kazakh President

New Delhi/Astana, May 21 (UNI) Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the MEA, who is representing India at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers Meeting in Astana, on Tuesday participated in the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the presidential palace, Akorda.

He also held talks with the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Kairat Torebayev in Astana and with the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrey Rudenko on the sidelines.

The Indian Embassy in Astana posted on X: “The Head of Indian delegation Shri Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu at the Meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana today.

“Secretary (Economic Relations) of the Ministry of External Affairs Mr. Dammu Ravi participated in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states with the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Akorda. “

“Secretary (ER) Mr. Dammu Ravi met with the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kairat Torebayev in Astana. The parties discussed possible ways of cooperation between India and Kazakhstan to develop and increase bilateral trade.”

“Secretary (ER) Shri Dammu Ravi met the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Mr Andrey Rudenko on the sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting on May 20, 2024 in Astana.”

The Russian Embassy posted on X regarding the meeting: “On May 20, in #Astana, on the sidelines of the #SCO Foreign Ministers Council, #Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko had a meeting with Secretary (ER), #India’n External Affairs Ministry, Dammu Ravi.

“They exchanged views on a wide range of #bilateral & #international issues with an emphasis on interaction in the #UN, #BRICS & #SCO.

“The parties reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen the multifaceted Russia-India special & privileged strategic partnership.”
