Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
Tuesday’s results have come as a huge shock to the Congressmen who were claiming victory on 10 to 12 seats in the Lok Sabha elections till Monday. Congress could not even get 2 seats. All the 29 seats have gone to the BJP’s account.

“I am responsible for the defeat of Congress. We tried our best, but we accepted the orders of the public. Now we will focus on strengthening the party,” Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Jitu Patwari said this in a press conference held at the state Congress headquarters on Tuesday evening.

He expressed happiness that the public has expressed trust in the INDIA alliance amidst the defeat. The election results of the country’s largest Panchayat are out. The atmosphere of confusion that was being created by showing exit polls till two days ago, that deceit has been defeated. The public has made it clear that it does not like authoritarianism and dictatorship. During the press conference, former minister Sajjan Singh Verma, media advisor to the state Congress president K.K. Mishra, media department president Mukesh Nayak and all the spokespersons of MP Congress were also present.

Will bring changes with introspection

Patwari said that the party is ready for changes with introspection. New thinking, ideas and behavior will be included in this. The people of MP are very aware and the way the people have slapped BJP in the form of NOTA in Indore, BJP will always remember it. Now the government should fulfill the guarantees given by Modi and in fulfilling those guarantees, the Congress party will continue to play its role as a strong opposition.
