Ready with continuity plan for Haifa port, says Adani amid conflict in Israel

New Delhi, (UNI) Amid concerns that cargo traffic at its Haifa port in Israel could face disruptions due to ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, Billionaire Gautam Adani-led Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd (APSEZ) on Monday said that Haifa port is situated in the northern part of the country while conflict is concentrated in South Israel.

“We have taken measures to ensure safety of our employees and all of them are safe. We remain fully alert and prepared with a business continuity plan that will enable us to respond effectively to any eventuality,” APSEZ said in a statement.

According to the company, the overall contribution of Haifa in APSEZ’s numbers is relatively small at 3% of the total cargo volume.

“For the current financial year (April 23-March 24), we have guided for Haifa Cargo volumes range of 10-12 MMT (million metric tonne) and APSEZ’s total cargo volume guidance of 370-390 MMT. In the initial six months (April-September 23), APSEZ’s total cargo volume was Rs203 MMT, of which the Haifa share is 6 MMT. We stay confident of APSEZs business performance,” APSEZ spokesperson said.
