The first and mega program of the Congress Party will be held on October 10 in the tribal dominated district Shahdol of Vindhya state. On October 10, former party president Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Beohari in Shahdol on the conclusion of the Jan Aakrosh Yatra.
Meanwhile, All India Congress Committee General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address a huge public meeting in Mandla on Thursday, October 12. During this time, State Congress Committee President and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath will also be present. State Congress Media Department President KK Mishra said that the All India Congress Committee informed that the State Congress has made former leader of opposition Ajay Singh and former minister Kamleshwar Patel in charge of preparing the program for Rahul Gandhi’s visit. In the program, along with addressing the public meeting, Rahul Gandhi will also interact with the people of tribal society.
On this occasion, State Congress President Kamal Nath, General Secretary in-charge of State Congress Randeep Singh Surjewala, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and senior leaders will be present.
Emphasizing on improving poor performance
There are 30 assembly seats in Vindhya region. In the 2018 elections, Congress had won only six seats. This was the worst performance of the party in the entire state. Even Ajay Singh, who was the leader of opposition in the assembly, lost the election from his traditional Churhat seat. The fabric of the organization was disintegrated.
Two Jan Aakrosh Yatras started from Vindhya
Keeping in view the caste and local equation, Congress took out two Jan Aakrosh Yatras from this region. One is being led by Ajay Singh and the other is being led by Kamleshwar Patel. Both will conclude on October 10 in Beohari of Shahdol. It is noteworthy that in the last three and a half years, Kamal Nath formed booth, division and sector committees here. When Ajay Singh ran the Ghar Wapsi program, he tried to woo the upper class by giving place to former minister Kamleshwar Patel, who came from Other Backward Class, in all the important committees of the party. Singrauli, Shahdol, Anuppur and Umaria are tribal dominated districts, while backward classes play a dominant role in Satna, Rewa and Sidhi.
