Rahul Gandhi to resume “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” from north Bengal’s Jalpaiguri

Siliguri, Jan 28 (UNI) Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will resume his “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,” from Jalpaiguri district in north Bengal on Sunday, party sources said here.

Fifty-three-year-old Gandhi completed the first phase of the Bengal leg of BJNY on January 25 in the state’s northernmost district Cooch Behar. where he received huge moral boost after thousands of people lined up on the road to greet him all the way.

“The gathering was spontaneous,” a local Congress leader claimed.

Sources said after the first phase of he BJNY in Bengal, Gandhi returned to New Delhi and is now scheduled to land at the Bagdogra airport on Sunday to set out on the second phase of the outreach programme.

After landing at the Bagdogra airport, Gandhi would go to neighbouring Jalpaiguri district and resume the yatra.

Sources said during the yatra, Gandhi would also interact with the people and on foot as well as on the bus.

The yatra will halt for the night in Siliguri and on Monday the Congress leader would start for Islampur, also a commercial town of north Bengal.

A separate report alleged that some cutouts and posters of Gandhi were defaced by unidentified miscreants.
