Punjab CM holds meeting with ambassadors of 8 countries to bring investments

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday held a meeting with ambassadors of eight countries at Kapurthala House in New Delhi.

The ambassadors of Spain, France, Brazil, Australia, Malaysia, UK, Netherlands, Turkey attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the CM showcased Punjab as a land of opportunities and invited them to encourage the companies of their respective countries to invest in the state.

Mann said that companies will be immensely benefited by investing in the state, which is rapidly emerging as the industrial hub of the country and added Punjab has complete communal harmony, peace and amity, which are mainly responsible for overall development and prosperity in the state.

He said that the foreign companies should make optimum use of this congenial atmosphere backed by excellent infrastructure, power, skilled human resources and best industrial and work culture to spread their business.

Extending a red carpet welcome to the companies, the Chief Minister said that the state government was always open for new ideas and innovations to boost up the industrial growth in Punjab.

Mann said that the day is not far away when Punjab will emerge as the industrial hub of the country.

Briefing the media after the meeting, Bhagwant Mann said, “The meeting was called to make Punjab the number one state by bringing investments in Agriculture, IT and industrial sectors”.

He said that 87 percent of the country’s Agro-products are made in Punjab and by bringing investment in this segment will give a new boost in this sector.

The Chief Minister said the meeting with all the ambassadors was very good and all of them have shown their interest in visiting Punjab.

Mann added that the matter would be taken up at the secretary level very soon.

Highlighting the achievement of AAP led government in Punjab, he said, “Reserves migration has taken place in Punjab because of development policies undertaken by the AAP government”.

“The CM said people of Punjab now start to reimpose their faith in the state government…adding that the only purpose of the meeting was to make Punjab the number one state in the country”.

When asked about the seat sharing with I.N.D.I.A bloc for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, he said, ‘The AAP will win all the 13 seats in the state”.

In the 2019 election, the Congress won eight seats, BJP and SAD two each and the AAP only one seat.
