  • Municipal Corporation’s action on finding filth flowing into Bhopal’s Upper Lake

The Municipal Corporation has taken major action against the management of a private hospital after filth was found flowing into Upper Lake of Bhopal. On Tuesday, the hospital room was sealed and a fine of Rs 36 lakh was imposed. The Zone-5 team took this action in the presence of Additional Commissioner Pawan Singh.

Zonal Officer Avadh Narayan Makoria said that this action has been taken against the LBS Hospital management. In which a room of the hospital was sealed and confiscated. This action was taken for dumping filth in Upper Lake. Besides, a fine of Rs 36 lakh 85 thousand was also imposed.

Action taken against releasing dirty sewage water into the Upper Lake

It is to inform that NGT has imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore 37 lakh for dirtying Upper Lake. Corporation officials say that they are dumping filth in the Upper Lake. Therefore, notices have been given to all the hospital managers on the banks of Upper Lake. The fine imposed by NGT is being recovered from the hospitals for releasing dirty sewage water into the Upper Lake and violating lake conservation. Ward in-charge Mujahid Siddiqui, Assistant Health Officer Asif Nazir etc. were also present during the action.
