PM Modi meets President Murmu, stakes claim to form government

New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and staked claim to form the government for the third consecutive term.

The Prime Minister arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan after he was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP-led NDA alliance in the presence of TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar and other alliance partners in Central Hall of old parliament building today.

In his brief remarks after meeting the President, the Prime Minister said ‘NDA will form a strong, stable and growth-oriented government”.

He said, “The NDA partners have reposed trust on me. On June 9, 2024, I will take the oath as the Prime Minister of India”.

The Prime Minister said, “NDA-3 will put in even more efforts for the development of India and the realization of the aspirations of its people”.

Thanking countrymen for giving a chance to serve the country for the third time, Modi said, ” I assure you that India will continue to develop in every sector at an even faster pace than during our previous two terms”.

The swearing-in ceremony of Modi and his Council of Ministers will take place on 6 PM on June 9, in the presence of the several global leaders who have been specially invited to attend the event.

The Prime Minister also met the BJP veteran leaders Lal Krishna Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi.

“Went to Advani Ji’s residence and sought his blessings. Every @BJP4India Karyakarta is inspired by Advani Ji’s monumental efforts to strengthen the Party,” he wrote in an X post.

In another tweet , Modi said “Called on Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi Ji. I have learnt so much from him when I was working in the Party organisation. He is greatly respected across India for his wisdom and knowledge”.
