PM Modi lets down people of Bihar by not fulfilling special status promise : Tejashwi

Patna, April 3 (UNI) Leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Wednesday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has let down people of Bihar by not fulfilling his special status promise to the state.

Yadav, while addressing a public meeting in Purnia after RJD candidate Beema Bharti filed her nomination papers from this Lok Sabha seat, said that Modi during his campaign in 2014 Lok Sabha election, had promised to grant special status to Bihar, if voted to power but he did not fulfill his promise. Almost ten years had lapsed since promise made by him but Bihar did not get special status so far, he added.

The leader of the opposition said that the Prime Minister had also promised to provide two crores jobs to youths every year and in last 10 years, twenty crores jobs should have been given as per his promise. Instead of giving jobs, those already in jobs were being terminated, he added.

Yadav said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had not made ” U ” turn by deserting Grand Alliance to join hands with BJP to form NDA government but instead, BJP had hijacked him. Kumar was his uncle and he had great respect for him, he remarked.

“During 17 months of being part of Grand Alliance government, we had provided 5 lakhs government jobs, which is a world record”, Yadav said and challenged that even Narendra Modi government had not given so much jobs to youths in last ten years. Similarly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had spoken blatant lies during his visit to Purnia that Airport had been constructed and made operational, he pointed out.

” In 2009 Lok Sabha election, people of Purnia had extended their support to BJP candidate enabling him to become MP while JD(U) candidate got elected in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections”, Tejashwi said adding that none of NDA MPs had done anything in the last 15 years for Purnia. It was time for them to extend support to RJD candidate Bharti in ongoing Lok Sabha election in larger interest of people of Purnia, he exhorted.
