Patwari replaces K Nath as Cong’s MP head

Bhopal, Dec 16 (UNI) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday appointed erstwhile state minister Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari as the party’s Madhya Pradesh unit head – a position hitherto held by former chief minister Kamal Nath.

Another ex-minister, Umang Singhar, assumed the mantle of the Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition, a post that was once held by his aunt and erstwhile deputy chief minister, Jamuna Devi, since deceased.

A Congress release said that Hemant Katare was bestowed with the responsibility of Deputy Leader of the Opposition. He is the son of former state Home Minister late Satyadev Katare who at one time served as Leader of the Opposition.
