Bhopal: The recruitment drive launched by the Women and Child Development Department for Anganwadi workers and assistants is witnessing an overwhelming response across Madhya Pradesh. As of now, a total of 2,70,152 applications have been received for 19,504 posts, with the last date to apply being July 4. Applicants can make corrections to their submitted forms until July 7.
According to the department, 2,14,422 applications have been received for the post of Anganwadi assistant, while 55,730 applications have come in for Anganwadi worker positions.
Among the divisions, Indore leads with 47,116 applications—38,601 for assistants and 8,515 for workers. Jabalpur follows with 44,258 applications (34,317 for assistants, 9,941 for workers), and Sagar division has registered 33,513 applications (27,857 for assistants, 5,656 for workers).
Other significant numbers include 28,850 applications from Bhopal, 28,519 from Rewa, and 28,413 from Gwalior. Ujjain has submitted 24,159 applications, while Chambal, Shahdol, and Narmadapuram have recorded 14,829, 10,406, and 10,089 applications respectively.
The massive turnout reflects the popularity and importance of these grassroots-level positions. The department has urged interested candidates to complete the application process before the deadline and review their entries carefully before the correction window closes.
