Bhopal: The passing-out parade of the 43rd batch of the Madhya Pradesh Police was held with ceremonial splendour at the parade ground of the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Bhouri, on Friday. The ceremony commenced with the national song and the National Anthem, following which Director General of Police Kailash Makwana took the salute as Chief Guest.
Congratulating the 17 probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), the DGP emphasised that policing is undergoing rapid transformation. In view of rising cybercrime, he urged officers to continuously upgrade their skills in cyber operations and become adept in the use of technology and Artificial Intelligence. Referring to the forthcoming Simhastha 2028, he highlighted emerging security, cyber and organised crime challenges and called upon officers to prepare themselves for a dynamic crime landscape.
Makwana noted that in the age of social media, even minor law-and-order issues can escalate swiftly, and the public expects prompt and impartial police action. “A single lapse during service can leave a lifelong blemish,” he cautioned, stressing discipline, integrity and sound judgement. He also underscored the growing menace of narcotics, describing it as a grave social challenge requiring sustained and strategic enforcement, akin to the determined efforts that curbed Naxal influence.
Drawing upon his 37 years of service, the DGP advised officers to perform their duties with honesty and dedication, take pride in their uniform, and prioritise assistance to the poor and vulnerable.
Deputy Director Sanjay Kumar Agrawal presented the training report, noting that the Academy, established in 2013, has now produced its eighth batch of DSPs. The current cohort comprises 10 men and seven women. Training included new criminal laws, cybercrime, forensics, law and order management, leadership, soft skills, drill and physical conditioning. A study tour to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh was also organised in view of Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain.
Anand Kumar Rai secured first position overall, while Roshni Kurmi stood second. Rai also topped the internal examination, with Rishabh Chhari securing second place. Shields and commendation certificates were presented during the ceremony, attended by senior police officials including Special DGP Ravi Kumar Gupta and Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.
