Bhopal to get new Police Commissioner

Bhopal: A significant reshuffle is on the horizon for the Madhya Pradesh Police Department, with Bhopal soon to welcome a new Police Commissioner. Current Bhopal Police Commissioner, Hari Narayan Chari Mishra, is slated for a central deputation, marking a major transition in the city’s top police leadership.

Mishra has officially become eligible for central deputation, a move that will see him take on a new role at the national level. He is one of two IPS officers from the Madhya Pradesh cadre to be empanelled for such a posting, the other being Anurag.

Following Commissioner Mishra’s move to the central government, a new Police Commissioner will be appointed for Bhopal, a position of critical importance for the city’s law and order. It is anticipated that Hari Narayan Chari Mishra will be assigned a role as Joint Secretary or an equivalent position within the central administration.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has empanelled a total of 19 officers for Joint Secretary or equivalent posts in the Government of India. This prestigious list includes Hari Narayan Chari Mishra, a 2003-batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, and his batchmate Anurag, who currently serves as the Inspector General of Police for Indore Rural. In addition to these two, the list comprises 11 other IPS officers from various cadres.
