Opposition insulting Hindus for advantage in Lok Sabha poll: BJP

Patna, Sep 7 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday alleged that opposition parties were “humiliating and insulting” Hindu religion known as “Sanatan Dharma”, for gaining advantage in next year’s Lok Sabha elections.

Prasad told media person here that recent hate speeches against “Sanatan Dharma” were evidences of the fact that opposition leaders in their meeting in Mumbai had finalised strategy to insult Hinduism.

DMK leaders and leaders of other opposition parties were deliberately attacking “Sanatan Dharma” with derogatory remarks but Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were maintaining stoic silence on the issue, he added.

“BJP will aggressively take the issue to people who would teach befitting lesson to opposition parties in 2024 Lok Sabha elections”, the BJP leader said adding it was highly objectionable to note that DMK leader Udaynidhi Stalin had called for eradication of Sanatan Dharma treating it as Dengue and Malaria while another party leader A Raja dubbed it as AIDS, he pointed out.

Prasad said that such attacks on Sanatan Dharma would never weaken it. If the British regime could not cause damage Sanatan Dharma, what had the potential of opposition parties to do so, he challenged.

BJP leader also came down heavily on RJD leader Jagdanand Singh for his adverse remark against those following Hindu tradition. How Singh could dare to say that those applying ‘Tilak’ on their foreheads, had made the country, slave he asked.
