New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Terming the nomination from Raebareli as an ’emotional moment’, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday sought people’s blessings to carry out the ‘ongoing fight for justice against injustice.’
In an emotional message on social media handle X, Rahul said, “Nomination from Raebareli was an emotional moment for me! My mother has entrusted me with the responsibility of the family’s workplace with great confidence and given me the opportunity to serve it”.
He called both Raebareli and Amethi as his ‘family’ and urged the people to vote and support the Amethi candidate Kishori Lal Sharma.
“Amethi and Raebareli are not different for me, both are my family and I am happy that Kishori Lal ji, who has been serving the area for 40 years, will represent the party from Amethi,” the former Congress president said.
Gandhi further said, “In the ongoing fight for justice against injustice, I seek the love and blessings of my loved ones. I am confident that all of you stand with me in this fight to save the Constitution and democracy”.
Earlier in the day, the Congress declared Rahul Gandhi as its candidate from Raebareli and Kishori Lal Sharma as candidate fro Amethi, thus putting an end to the suspense.
The filing of nomination to the fifth phase of Lok Sabha election came to an end on Friday.
