Nitish announces Choudhary and Sinha as Deputy CMs

Patna, Jan 28 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar, who took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the ninth time on Sunday heading the NDA government hours after dumping the Grand Alliance, announced that BJP leaders Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha would function as Deputy Chief Ministers in the new cabinet.

After the oath-taking ceremony, Kumar told newspersons that he had recognised the leader of the BJP legislature party, Samrat Chaudhary, and its deputy leader, Vijay Kumar Sinha, as Deputy Chief Ministers in his cabinet.

Both Chaudhary and Sinha took oath as ministers after Kumar on Sunday evening.

The Chief Minister said besides him, eight ministers took the oath this evening.

The cabinet will be expanded soon, Kumar said, adding that the rest of the ministers will be inducted shortly.

Replying to queries from the media, Kumar said earlier he was with the BJP but had shifted somewhere else and, respecting the sentiments of his party leaders, was back with the saffron party.

Kumar reiterated that he worked in the interest of Bihar and would continue to strive for the development of the state.

Without taking the name of the opposition alliance, Kumar alleged that all was not well in the Grand Alliance, where things were not going properly.

Kumar also ruled out the possibility of moving anywhere else again.
