Naidu, Pawan Kalyan complain CEC about irregularities in preparing voters list

Vijayawada, Jan 9 (UNI) Telugu Desam party national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan attended the review meeting held by the Central Election Commission officials here on Tuesday. The Central Election Commissioner Officials are here to monitor the preparations for the ensuing elections.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, commissioners Arun Goel and Anup Chandra Panda met leaders of various political parties and discussed various issues pertaining to conducting elections. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan filed a complaint on the irregularities that took place in preparing voters list in AP.

Later Naidu and film actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan told the media that they complained to the CEC on the irregularities that took place in preparing the voter list.

They also complained to the CEC about registering false cases against the leaders of political parties, Naidu said, adding that they informed the CEC that over 200 were sent to prison in the Punganur violence incident. As many as 7000 cases were registered against the TDP and JSP leaders, he said, adding that they explained the anarchy being committed by the ruling party.

Naidu said that they requested the CEC to appoint experienced officials to conduct elections in AP. He objected to appointing over 2.600 mahila police as Booth Level Officials. He urged the CEC to deploy central forces and officials, Naidu said.

“We have explained the ruling party using police to intimidate the leaders and activists of parties. The CEC has assured of taking all measures to protect democracy and to conduct elections peacefully,” Naidu said. Pawan Kalya said that they had complained to the CEC about the deletions and additions of votes in a flawed manner.
