Srinagar, April 9 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that Kashmiri Pandits do not need any help from any political party to return and settle down in Kashmir again as people of the valley themselves want to see Pandits return and live together just like they once did.
“Kashmiri people want to see Pandits come back and stay in the valley peacefully again like they were staying together in a very beautiful atmosphere,” Mufti told media persons on Tuesday after visiting Abhi Guzer Srinagar to express condolence on the demise of senior photojournalist Roshan Lal Sharma.
She said Kashmiri Pandits who are living in Jammu or any other places in extreme situations do not need any help from Government or from Mehbooba Mufti or BJP or any other to settle down in Kashmir.
“The common people here want to see the Kashmiri Pandits return and live together as they happily did earlier,” she said.
Mufti said that when Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, Buddhist Christians and Muslims were living together it represented a real cultural view of the society.
Mehbooba slammed those films being made on Kashmir that give people here a bad name.
“In spite of the unpleasant situation, Roshan Lal’s family stayed in Kashmir and lived alongside with Muslims, is an example of brotherhood and the answer to those people who are making films to give a bad name to Kashmir”, Mufti said.
