Monsoon active in South-East MP, heavy rain alert for 18 dists

Bhopal: The monsoon system has been active in the south-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh for the last two days. There is an alert of heavy rain in 18 districts of the state in the next 24 hours. There is also a possibility of lightning in 7 districts. Light rain may occur in other districts of the state including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur.

According to Met Office heavy rain may occur in 18 districts including Sagar, Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Dindori, Satna, Rewa, Ashoknagar, Singrauli, Sidhi, Anuppur, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh. Light rain may occur in 35
districts including Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur and Niwari.

Senior Meteorologist HS Pandey told that it is raining moderately to heavily in South-East and East Madhya Pradesh. This phase will stop in three to four days, but from August 5, it is expected to rain
again in the entire state.
