There are many excellent contenders in the race for the reserved category ticket in Chitrangi Legislative Assembly. From the BJP side, there are heated discussions between the current MLA Amar Singh and his nephew Dr. Ravindra Singh and former Municipal Corporation Mayor Premwati Singh. Whereas in the Congress party, former MLA Saraswati Singh, former MP Manik Singh and District Panchayat member Ashok Singh are in the race. Till now, the main contest here has been between BJP and Congress party. There is a tug of war going on among themselves regarding the assembly ticket.

Actually, Bharatiya Janata Party has been dominant in Chitrangi Legislative Assembly. In the 2018 assembly elections, Amar Singh surprised everyone by winning unilaterally. BJP’s Amar Singh won a historic victory by defeating his nearest rival Saraswati Singh by more than 56 thousand votes. After winning the elections with a huge majority, MLA Amar Singh proved to be almost true to the development works during his tenure. Now the race for tickets continues. Sources are telling that apart from the current MLA from BJP, Dr. Ravindra Singh, son of former minister Jagannath is also staking his claim. Ravindra Singh’s wife Radha Singh has also decided to contest the elections. But there are discussions that she is out of the ticket race these days.  A group of BJP is busy encouraging Dr. Ravindra Singh. The reason for this is said to be that distance remains between uncle and nephew so that Netaji’s selfishness continues to be served. Although Netaji is influential in the party these days. His congregation is praising him like what a great grassroots leader he is. Everyone knows. Dr. Ravindra Singh is also considering his ticket as confirmed on the support of the said big leader. Whereas in the three-tier Panchayat elections held last year, Dr. Ravindra Singh from Ward Geer and Radha Singh from Ward Kulkwar, both husband and wife, were trying their luck by contesting for the post of member from these different wards of District Panchayat. But both the husband and wife were rejected outright by the voters and Radha-Ravindra Singh could not even become the nearest rivals. Former mayor Premwati Khairwar had contested the elections from Gir. He was also completely rejected by the public. Premwati Khairwar is also in the race for ticket from BJP. It is too early to say that Who will be the candidates for the Chitrangi Legislative Assembly from BJP now. but Amar Singh, the easy-going and friendly MLA who won with historic votes, is being said to have the upper hand.

Three main contenders from Congress also

Three major contenders from the Congress party have also staked claim for tickets from this assembly. It includes former MP Manik Singh, former MLA Saraswati Singh and District Panchayat member Ashok Paigam. While Ashok Paigam is considering his ticket as sure, former MP Manik Singh is also not considering himself weaker than anyone. Whereas Saraswati Singh is also continuously making efforts for tickets and is also engaged in public relations. Meanwhile, Saraswati Singh was also trying her luck for the post of District Panchayat member from Kulkwar ward in the last Panchayat elections, but here too she had to face defeat. In such a situation, political pundits believe that former Congress Party MP Manik Singh and District Panchayat member Ashok Singh are leading in the race for Paigam ticket. Aam Aadmi Party and BSP have not opened their cards yet. Mahadev Singh’s name is being taken loudly from the Aam Aadmi Party. Probably the party can approve his name only. At present, who can compete with BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in the ST Chitrangi Assembly ticket? It is too early to say anything on this right now. But these days there is a lot of discussion about Chitrangi ST seat in the district.
